halloween bat hair clip

Here’s a fun last minute Halloween hair clip idea. To make this I used a bobby pin, felt and embroidery thread.

First, I went all Edward Scissorhands and cut out this bat shape out of a piece of black felt that I had folded in half. {So there were two black bats.}

Next, I used some yellow embroidery thread and sewed a couple of eyes onto one of the bats.

Then I used black embroidery thread to stitch the two bats together around the edges. I cut a tiny slit in the back of the bat and inserted the bobby pin.

It was a quick project. It’s taken me longer to edit the photos and write the post than it did to make the bat hair clip. Here is the finished clip on my ever-so-nice daughter, who lets me use her as a model often.
