We are still a bit braid crazy around here. These are just a few attempts at adding ribbon to braids. The first one was a French braided fishtail, similar to this one that I posted earlier. The difference is that I started on the side of my daughter’s head for this one and I tied a ribbon into a section of her hair before I started braiding. Then it just kept weaving through the braid just like the rest of her hair. I think you could braid more neatly to make the ribbon show more.
Next we have a regular braid headband that is made up of ribbon and hair. I tied a ribbon into a piece of her hair near her ear. Then I started braiding the piece of hair and the ribbon, making the hair one section of the braid, and the ribbon the other two sections of the braid. Once I got to the end of the braid, I wrapped the braid across her head and used a bobby pin to hold it on the other side. It looks messy in the photos because she was trying to do homework while I was braiding and it wasn’t the most convenient position for braiding…
The last one is a French braid. I tied a ribbon into my hair where I wanted to start the braid, then used the piece of hair as one section of the braid and the ribbons as the other two sections. I started French braiding across the front, adding in my bangs and tying the braid off with a rubber band. I left the ribbon about the same length as my hair. This is nice if you have bangs and just don’t feel like seeing them for a few hours. Are you crazy for braids at your house?
