burned scrabble tile pendant

Here is another project that was done with the wood burning tool. This is the tip I used:

wood burning tool

I pressed it into a scrabble tile to make a flower shape. I didn’t take photos during the process because I wanted to have unburned fingers. I was playing around with a wooden spoon, too, trying to see if I could make it look plaid. That one still needs work.

Once I had the shape burned into the tile, I sanded it a little, just to get rid of a small amount of the black part. Then I glued on the loop with E6000 glue. Once that was dry, I used DG3 Art Gel and put a couple of layers both sides. Here’s how it turned out:

Clever to use the tip to form each petal and I like the aged look of it, too.

Came over from Overflowing. A wood burning set was my favorite childhood craft toy besides my weaving loom! Brings back fond memories. Love the tile pendant.
