Button Up Headband Tutorial
These button headbands are cute and easy to make. I started with these Goody headbands from Target, but you can use whatever kind you like. These are good (puns follow me) because they don’t feel too tight on your head, and they’re really stretchy, so they fit kids and adults. They come in packs of all black, or if you look in the kids section of the hair accessory aisle, there are multi-colored packs. They’re all the same size, so pick the ones you like. After wearing them a few times they do get stretched out, so we just throw them in the wash at our house. Just make sure you use buttons that can take the washer and dryer.
Here’s what you’ll need: headbands, buttons, needle and thread. That’s it.
Next it’s time to decorate. If you’re like me, you never get rid of buttons. Mine are all in the same jar, so I really don’t know which ones are old, vintage, or new. Just mix and match until you find a combination you like. Then sew each button to the headband. I like to cluster the buttons on the seam of the headband, so any way you wear it there’s no worry about the seam showing.
I hope you like these. As with all my posts, Take my ideas!
