Crocodile Valentine Box
This is a project out of my family archives. Our youngest son went to a conservation science based school when he was in 5th grade. It was an amazing public school. I wrote about it here. For the class Valentine’s party that year, each child made their own mailbox to receive cards. Ben made this crocodile Valentine box {with a little help from Dad and big sister.} I’m going from memory here, but the supplies they used were some cardboard pie boxes, a wire hanger, tape, paint, crafting foam, and LOTS of hot glue.
You can see that Ben focused on the symbiotic relationship between crocodiles and the birds who clean their teeth. To put the card in, you had to open the croc’s mouth.
Of course, being a 5th grader, the box was designed so that to get the cards out you had to lift up it’s tail.
I hope this inspires a few creative Valentine box ideas for you.
