Cross Shoulder Doily Bag
Do you ever type a word and then wonder if that’s the right way to spell it? I just did that when I typed doily. For some reason, it looks funny. I just checked the spelling and that’s the right way to spell it, but it still looks wrong to me. Weird. Anyway, today’s project is a canvas bag that I decorated by hand sewing on a couple of thrifted doilies. This is an inexpensive project and easy, too. Start with a couple of doilies and a canvas bag in whatever size you like. I got mine from Hobby Lobby.
Since I was using two doilies, I sewed the small one onto the big one, then sewed the big one onto the canvas bag. This took a little longer than I thought it would because one of my hands was inside the bag and I couldn’t see very well. I didn’t pin them to hold them in place, but if you like your life to be a little easier, you should pin it first.
Here’s how the bag looks. What do you think?
