As far as Mondays go, this one’s a good one. My body still hasn’t adjusted to the time change and it’s wonderfully easy to wake up. I’ll be used to it by tomorrow, but today is lovely. Just the sound of the words fall back make me smile.

Here is something else that makes me smile: Yummyfun Kooking. This is a cooking series for kids and their parents. It’s a cross between Pee Wee’s Playhouse, Wonderfalls, and Pushing Daisies. The food occasionally becomes animated. The colors are exaggerated and the host can be quite silly. It’s definitely worth checking out if you have little ones with an interest in cooking.

Another reason to be happy on this rainy, fall back day in Missouri: Brach’s pumpkin candy. It’s gone. My sisters and I have a contest every year to see who will spot and eat the first pumpkin candy of the season. Over the years, it’s become farther and farther away from Halloween. I don’t think we’ve spotted any in July yet, but it’s getting close. Anyway, the point of that is that when I start eating pumpkins in the summer, by the time Halloween gets here I’m completely burned out on them for the year. This year I paced myself, so we still had a few stragglers left over the weekend. I set them out and they’re gone. I think I like them going away every year as much as I like being the first one to find them in the summer!
