Dollar Store Scarf with Pom Poms
I hope you all had a wonderful break with your families. I sure did. It’s back to normal life around here, with my husband back at work after his stay-cation and my high school student back in school. My college kids have a couple of weeks of break left – lucky kids! Today’s project is a simple and economical dollar store scarf with pom poms. I hesitate to call this a tutorial because you can tell what I did based on the photos of the scarves. But I’ll explain anyway, just so I can officially label this a tutorial.
Start with a dollar store scarf {or two} and some pom poms. I got mine from Pick Your Plum last summer, but you can find these at any fabric store. I decided to use the pom poms that were the same color or close to the same color as the scarf.
Cut a strip of pom pom trim with just enough to turn the ends under. Sew it onto the scarf. Make as many rows as you like. I did two rows on each end of the scarf.
Here’s how they look:
And here is the pink scarf on Maddie. These are nice for those climates where you don’t need a super thick scarf, or for those times in the cold climates when it starts warming up. I think these would be really cute for winter birthday party favors, too.

Welcome back, Betsy! I missed your posts! Love the scarf on darling Maddie! So cute!
Thanks, Susan. I’m happy to be back to posting, too. I decided to soak up all that precious family time while I could over Christmas (so no time for blogging). I love how that kind of time fills my cup and makes me feel stronger and ready to take on the next challenges.
What a cute & simple way to dress it up! I love your posts and would be happy to have you link up at my Pin Me Linky Party. I allow up to 3 each week!
Thanks, Diana!
