Today’s project is a dress that I refashioned into this skirt.

Here’s what the dress looked like. I loved this dress, but I dried it a few too many times in the dryer and it got too short. So, I thought I would try to make it into a skirt so I could keep wearing it.

This was an easy refashion. I cut the dress right below the elastic.

Next I sewed the waist into a tube so I could add some new elastic. The elastic I had was pretty thick, so I made sure the tube was thick enough to accommodate it.

I measured the elastic around my waist, threaded it through the tube, sewed the ends together, and that’s it! New/old skirt for me! Once it gets cooler I will love wearing this with tights and boots. Have you saved anything from a landfill lately? :)
