This week has been really beautiful in Springfield. The fall colors are absolutely glowing right now. Leaves are falling faster, though, so I’m trying to soak up as much prettiness as I can before it’s gone. Here are some of my favorite images from the past week:

1. Weekend coffee date with my husband. This is one of my most cherished parts of each week.

2. Warm socks and tights, a whole aisle at Target! Cold weather? Bring it!

3. Buddy, the Cake Boss!! My sister and I got to meet him at Barnes & Noble yesterday. He was very gracious, even by the time we got to the front of the line. My favorite part of this experience was being in line behind a couple of 13 year old girls and their moms. The girls were giddy about getting to meet Buddy, and during the course of our time in line, they made up a cheer for him. When they got to the front of the line, they announced that they had a cheer for him. He was so sweet, and excited, and told them nobody had ever made up a cheer for him before. He even asked them to wait until his camera staff could get to the back of the store. The girls gave the cheer and Buddy was appreciative and kind. The whole interaction was just so sweet! Buddy’s reaction was perfect. He came across as a class act and I’m sure the girls will never forget it. Hooray for a world full of nice people!

4. Red leaves. This tree turns into a super nova of color right before everything falls off. It happens so quickly that it’s a little depressing. While I can’t wait to see it in it’s full color explosion each year, I know that means that over the course of one or two days, all the leaves will fall off. It’s a little like getting to the end of a really good book; you want to finish the story, but you don’t want it to be over.

5. Yellow flowers. These even glow at night! So pretty.
