How to Make a Hair Bow {Literally}
This is Lyndie. She and my daughter, Maddie, have been good friends for a long time. Lyndie knows our grace. Maddie knows the grace at Lyndie’s house, too. Now that’s a sign of a good friendship.
I recently saw a photo of Lyndie on Facebook, taken during spring break. Her hair was in the CUTEST bow I have ever seen. She told me it was really easy, and that it doesn’t fall out. And then she agreed to share the how-to with all of us. {Yay!} She starts by putting her hair in a high ponytail.
Next, she pulls part of the ponytail through the hair tie like she is going to make a messy bun, making sure that the tail is hanging in the front. Isn’t she cute?
This is the part that I think is so clever. See the loop of hair that’s sticking out of the ponytail? She splits it in half.
Then, using the tail of the ponytail, she wraps it around the bow, and tucks it into the back side of the hair tie. She doesn’t mind having the leftover hair showing in the back, but she said you could keep wrapping it around, then tuck it in and bobby pin it if you like that look better. The good thing about the way she does it, is that the only thing required for her to get this look is a hair tie. I didn’t get a photo of the back, but a small piece of hair sticks out the bottom side of the hair tie. It was perfect for hanging around the beach during spring break. This took her about a minute to create.
Here she is with the finished bow. It reminds me a little of a Dr. Seuss character, so whimsical and fun. I don’t think this photo could be any cuter! Cute girl and cute bow.
