I love old magazines, so I thought I’d share some ads with you from the Life Magazine from this week in 1945.

This one is just altogether sweet. A guy back from the war, a girl who loves him, and some silverware. Sigh…

Back Home for Keeps

The looks on this guy’s face makes me laugh. The fact that she thinks it’s convenient for her guy to smoke right now is funny, too. (I’m not a fan of smoking, but I still think these old ads are funny!)

Why Be Irritated?

It’s funny to see this car ad that is promoting how you can even take your fish in the car for a smooth ride, considering that my son is currently fish-sitting for a friend who didn’t think the fish could take a 3 hour car ride over the break. I guess they don’t make cars like they used to.

GE Lamps. I love the old fashioned terminology. We call them lightbulbs at our house.

GE Lamps

This ad is great because it makes the car look so majestic. I don’t think of any of our vehicles in this way today. They are just transportation, nothing majestic about them.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this stroll down memory lane!
