Orange Dip Dyed Hair
Hello. This is Maddie and this is my hair. I’ve wanted to try dip dying it and summer seemed like the perfect time to give it a try. My friend Saylor was nice enough to do the dipping for me. Here’s what it looked like to start:
We used this dye that we found at a Sally Beauty Supply store:
We coated the ends in dye and worked it in with our fingers. {Be sure to use gloves so you don’t end up with orange hands.} We let it sit for around 45 minutes. The longer you leave it in, the brighter it will be.
We rinsed it under the sink and tried to get the water to run clear. It never got quite clear. We towel dried it, blow dried it, and used a straightener to help lock in the color. It looked like this:
Here it is the next day:

Very cute! And the best part is, if you hated it, it was easy to get rid of. 😉 Love that bright orange, though. Very brave.
Thanks, Mrs Handyverger! She loved it, but it washed out after a few days, especially with all the swimming going on this summer.
