We have been wearing boots and socks all winter around here. After a few months, it has started getting a bit boring. So, we have started adding a flower clip or a bow to our socks to give the outfit a little something extra. The bows are easy to make. Just use felt, glue, and hair clips.
Cut a square out of felt (or a rectangle if you like longer bows), and a strip of felt to wrap around the bow.
Fold the square of felt into an accordion, then wrap the little strip of felt around the middle of the accordion and glue it. While the glue is still wet, cut two little slits in the piece of felt that is wrapped around the accordion, on the back side. Insert the hair clip through the holes. The glue is still wet, but it will eventually hold the clip in place.
I didn’t want the clips to show so much, so I painted the clips with nail polish because that was what was handy at the time. Black Halloween polish for one, and Winnie the Pooh skin colored nail polish for the other.
Then just clip the bow to your sock to add a punch of color to your outfit.
